Position Details:
Title: Substitute Teacher
Classification: Part-Time, Hourly
Reports to: Head of School
Schedule: As needed based on school’s needs and your availability
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High School Diploma and/or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required
- Background in Education or related field preferred
- Prior experience working with children, teaching, tutoring, childcare, or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of School, Substitutes will:
- Follow lesson plans, classroom procedures, schedules, and instructions as provided by the lead classroom teacher
- Supervise and monitor students during classroom activities, recess, lunch, and other school events
- Support classroom management using positive behavior guidance and social-emotional techniques
- Collaborate with faculty and staff as needed and assist with other school responsibilities as assigned (Morning/Afternoon carpool, Lunch/Recess duty, etc.)
- Comply with all Mason Preparatory School policies and procedures, and expectations
